Zillow 3D tour vs Matterport: which one for your listing?

Agents ask us which 3D tour to book almost every week. Both are good tools, and they solve different problems. Here is how we explain it, with our real prices.

The short answer

Book the Zillow 3D tour when the listing needs Zillow Showcase. Book Matterport when image quality, the dollhouse view and accurate dimensions matter most, usually on higher-end listings or when buyers are out of town. On some listings, agents book both.

• Where it shows. The Zillow 3D Home tour shows on Zillow, and its link works on every platform. Matterport shows on the MLS, your website and social media, but not on Zillow.
• Zillow Showcase. Showcase requires the Zillow 3D Home tour with an interactive floor plan. A Matterport tour does not count for Showcase.
• Image quality. Zillow tours are limited by Zillow’s compression. Matterport Pro3 scans are sharper.
• Dollhouse and dimensions. Matterport gives the dollhouse view of the whole home and accurate dimensions from the Pro3’s LiDAR. The Zillow tour comes with an interactive floor plan.
• How long it stays live. The Zillow tour stays live as long as the listing is live. We host Matterport tours for 6 months.
• Price. Zillow 3D tour + interactive floor plan: $89 to $199 by home size. Matterport: $159 to $399 by home size.

When to choose each

• Zillow 3D tour: the listing goes on Zillow Showcase, you want a tour with an interactive floor plan at a lower price, and most buyers will find the home on Zillow.
• Matterport: a higher-end listing where image quality carries the price, out-of-town or relocating buyers, a large or unusual floor plan where the dollhouse view helps, or a tour you want embedded on your own website.
• Both: a Showcase listing at a price point where the sharper Matterport tour is worth sharing everywhere else.

Does a Matterport tour show on Zillow?
