Q1 2025: 153 homes and three lessons from the field

We’re Al, Gabriela and Victor, the family behind Megapixeler, a local, family-owned real estate photography company serving St. Johns, Duval and Clay counties. As the first quarter of 2025 wraps up, here’s an update from the field.

In Q1 we photographed 153 homes, and 59% have already sold or have offers, a strong sign that agents using high-quality media still see solid results, even while listings sit longer. We don’t outsource any part of the job, which is how we keep fast turnaround, top quality and fair prices. Most of our work now comes from returning clients and referrals.

Three things we learned

1. Floor plans make a difference. According to Zillow, floor plans are the second most important listing feature after the main photo, and listings with them get up to 52% more clicks. That’s why every 2025 photoshoot includes a free floor plan.
2. Story-driven photography is growing. Agents are asking for intentional shots that tell a story, like a cozy reading nook or how the living room connects to the kitchen. It’s not about every corner; it’s about what makes the home feel special.
3. Virtual staging and walkthrough videos are more popular than ever. With homes taking longer to sell, agents use them to stay visible and engaging on social media.
